Mary's first resting place; The Bradburn Vault~Erie Street Cemetery: Cleveland ohio
Mary was first laid to rest in The Bradburn Vault , Erie Street Cemetry for a few years before her mother had time to get Woodland Cemetery plot together for them all. Her father Nelson & all her brothers & sisters also laid there before they were moved to Woodland Cemetery. The Bradburn's were another wealthy pioneer family that lived on Millionaires Row a few doors down. They were not only neighbors & friends but the men worked together in the grocery business. The Bradburns 'loaned' the space in their vault to Mrs Monroe after al of her unforeseen deaths in her family one right after another. IN the Victorian times this 'loaning ' of vaults was done frequently. In 1869 they were all moved
together to Woodland Cemetery. Nelson, Mary, & 21 other souls of The Monroe Family. Mrs. Monroe did alot of work to get the all together again on Woodland Cemetery in the beautiful place she created for them all.
